Liviu Antonesei

Liviu Antonesei (born 1953) teaches Psychology and Educational Sciences at the Al. I. Cuza University in Jassy. He is a member of the Romanian PEN Club. He is the founder and president of Timpul (The Time) cultural review. A poet, essayist, prose writer, and sociologist, he is also one of Romania’s most respected journalists, having over the years contributed to all the country’s most important newspapers. He made his debut as an author in 1988 with the book Semnele timpului (Signs of the Times). His numerous other books include Pharmakon (poetry, 1989), Cautarea cautarii (The Search for the Search; poetry, 1990), 1990: Vremea in schimbare (1990: The Changing Times; interviews, 1995), Despre dragoste. Anatomia unui sentiment (On Love: The Anatomy of a Feeling; essays, 2000), Check Point Charlie. Sapte povestiri fara a mai socoti si prefata (Check Point Charlie.
